The bamboo groves are probably the main thing to see in Arashiyama. It was interesting to have a walk around the area and down the streets lined with the tall bamboo. There wasn’t a huge area covered by these groves but it was something different and a nice break from the many temples. I thought this was a good thing to do as a morning trip away from Kyoto and which provided a more laid back day.
