I visited the Tsukiji fish market after wandering Ginza – this was the old site of the main fish auctions but these had now moved to Toyosu. It was a bit late in the day when I visited but a lot of the eateries were still open and cooking tuna with blowtorches.
I’d planned to get up at 4 the next day to try to get to Toyosu but felt so shattered I ended up sleeping in which was fortunate. When I arrived, they told me Wednesdays were their days off so I didn’t get a chance to look around. I’d read whilst you could turn up on the day, really you needed to try to book early for an auction to get a prime spot.
