Maruyama Koen park was next to where I was staying in Kyoto and made a nice area to nip off to as a way to do my first touristy thing since arriving in Japan. The park itself was lovely with a few temples dotted around as well as some Koi ponds. It was late in the day, lightly raining and I was pretty exhausted, but there were some good paths that looked to run up into the mountains that looked like they could be fun to explore. On the way back I saw a sign with a picture of noodles and a duck and I stopped off at a random ramen place for some food and big beer.
